Feel Good Story 😍 This afternoon, the ZooTampa Manatee Care Team returned the first rehabilitated manatee of 2022! We’re happy to share that Chandler, a 720-pound manatee is back in Florida waters at the TECO Manatee Viewing Center in Apollo Beach. Last January, Chandler was brought to our David A. Straz, Jr. Manatee Critical Care Center by MyFWC Florida Fish and Wildlife after he was found suffering from cold stress. 🌊Finishing out Manatee Awareness Month with a Manatee Release!⚓ CCPD’s Marine Unit teamed up with FWC and ZooTampa at Lowry Park to release a rescued manatee this afternoon at Horton Park in Cape Coral. Back in May, this 960-pound manatee was found near St. James City with a crab trap tangled around her paddle.
